"MEINEN ELTERN IN LIEBE MARGOT, JUNI 1938" In memoriam Dr. Margot Bähr-Hochherr (1911-1942) with Ellen Mendel, New York Exhibition, lecture and discussion Friday, 19th july 2002, 6 pm In October 2000 Ellen Mendel, guest of the 'Woche der Begegnung', transferred to the 'Förderverein' photos of a singular beauty. This opened a first view on the history of the Breisacher family Bähr. Margot Bähr studied dental medicine in Freiburg and sought refuge in Holland after her exams. On 15 July 1942 she was arrested with her husband and the three year old daughter Suzanne in Amsterdam, deported to Auschwitz and murdered. (view report of the Badische Zeitung, 13/08/2002)

"JUDENGASSE - DER FADEN IST GERISSEN" World premiere of the film made by Bodo Kaiser during the 'Woche der Begegnung 2000' On 22th october 1940 ended the history of the jewish communities of Baden by the deportation to Gurs, France. 60 years later, 40 former citizens of Breisach came from 7 countries together with their children and grandchildren to their former home town and look for traces of their past. Prompted by the 60th anniversary of the deportation of the Jews of Baden to Gurs, which also brutally terminated the existence of the Jewish community in Breisach, the Breisach Former Jewish Community Center's Sponsors' Association is hosting a memorial week in cooperation with the City of Breisach. The memorial week will commence on Friday, Oct. 20, 2000 at 8:30 PM with a concert in the Former Jewish Community Center, and is to be concluded by a farewell celebration at 8:30 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, which will also take place in the Former Jewish Community Center.

Revisit, remember, record - this could be the motto of these days of encouters with Breisach survivors of the holocaust and their relatives invited by the City of Breisach.
